Insurance and Booking Conditions

If for any exceptional reason beyond our control we have to cancel your Holiday, your balance and deposit will be returned in full or an alternative holiday offered.

Should you have to cancel your Holiday please let us know as soon as possible, so that we can endeavour to fill your space. The following cancellation charges apply unless we are able to fill your space:

  • Cancellation received more than ten weeks before the commencement of your Holiday: Deposit only.
  • Cancellation received less than ten weeks prior to the commencement of your Holiday: 100% of total cost.

To safeguard your monies all money received from you is held in a special trust fund until you have had your holiday.

To guard yourselves against incurring cancellation charges in the unhappy event of you having to cancel (due to ill health for example), it is essential that you take out adequate insurance. In the case of foreign holidays, suitable insurance is mandatory to cover all eventualities such as cancellation, delay, lost baggage, etc.

We recommend that you take out suitable insurance of your own, or contact Clark Thomson Insurance Brokers Ltd in Kirkwall, Orkney, for a competitive UK or Worldwide insurance quote for your holiday. We cannot accept responsibility for any delay or cancellation outside our control which might affect your Holiday or your own personal travel arrangements, though we will assist wherever possible.

Upon receipt of your deposit and booking form we will send you a written confirmation of your booking. The balance becomes due ten weeks before the start of your Holiday. If there are too few clients on any particular Holiday (a rare event), we may have to cancel and return your deposit, or offer you an alternative holiday .

For this reason it is important that you confirm that your holiday is definitely going ahead before booking and paying for your travel arrangements. We cannot be held responsible for any payments you have made to others if we have to cancel.
